Advanced Computing Support Grant

The HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) announced this week that the Reading Chicago Reading project was awarded one of their Advanced Computing Support grants this year. See the press release here. The award will enable us to get assistance from the support staff at the HTRC for expanding our computational analysis of the texts used in “One Book, One Chicago” and also other related and recommended books identified by library staff. The use of the HathiTrust digital library is essential to this phase of our research because it is more or less the only means of performing text processing on large collections of in-copyright texts, such as the “One Book” selections.
